•) Support for multiple DDP addresses on a single machine has been added.
•) Some code was changed to be ‘040 friendly for the new Quadra CPUs.
•) Supports new power-down modes of the PowerBook 140/170.
•) Minor modifications to the way retry timers are handled were made in both NBP and ATP. This should reduce traffic due to retransmissions on slower network links (2400 to 19.2KB serial lines)
•) The network control panel no longer allows you to select LocalTalk if the printer port is already open by another application.
•) Reliability and performance of LocalTalk on Mac Pluses has been improved.
•) Minor performance enhancements to ADSP.
•) Modify ADSP so that completion routines do not get nested. This was not a bug, but the new method uses less CPU stack and leaves interrupts disabled for shorter amounts of time.
•) Add new AppleTalk transition queue events -- See updated TechNote #250 and #311.
•) Reponder now deregisters its name when a machine like the SE, SE/30, Classic, or LC is shutdown and the 'It is now safe to turn off your Macintosh' is displayed. Previously, the name was still registered on the network even though the machine had been 'shut down'
BUGS:
=====
•) The ‘Flagship’ naming service will load under system 7 even if the mouse button is held down. This fixes a problem where turning on FileShare after booting with the mouse button down will show a dialog saying (incorrectly) that the System may have been damaged.
•) A problem with VM that occurs if a dialog gets put up at boot time saying a driver for the selected AppleTalk port can not be found has been fixed.
•) A bug that could cause heap corruption or a bus error when trying to open AppleTalk using Localtalk, but the printer port serial driver is already open has been fixed.
•) On portables, closing AppleTalk could sometimes power down the serial drivers even on a port AppleTalk was not using.
•) Fix bug in ADSP that could cause a close-advice packet to be sent immediately following an open request packet.
•) Fix bug in ADSP that could prevent a session from being opened if the Application reuses a connection control block. This bug affected WordPerfect's mail product when running over serial links.
•) The VSccEnable variable in MPP vars was set incorrectly when running on the original Mac Portable.
